So I love to read. But some of you may not know that that was not always the case. I used to dislike reading and even dread it. It seemed as though I became a book worm over night practically. I just needed some motivation.
For me, that motivation was coming up with a Summer Reading List. It helped me a lot to just decide that I was going to make it a point to read when I wasn't required to for school. If you don't naturally love reading, but want to, the best thing to do is to decide that you are going to read. With good books, you'll discover that you're captivated and you'll enjoy it more than you think. It helps if you don't set an amount of time that you want yourself to read. Don't say to yourself "OK. I want to read no less than 30 minutes". Trust me, when you say that, each minute of reading will feel like an hour and it will go by so much more quick if you decide just to read until you don't want to anymore. If you have a good book, you'll keep turning the pages and not pay attention to the clock. Also, speaking of clocks, DO NOT have one positioned in front of you while you read. Again, this just seems to make the time drag on longer. JUST DON'T. Alright, so I know not everyone is born with a book in their hand but I thought I'd give some of my advice for how to enjoy reading more and become a real reader. -Phoebe Snell Worm, Book Addict, and Lover of Chapters
